Running In, Please Pass

Postby Xetal » Sat Jan 23, 2010 10:37 pm

Considerate motorists used to have a 'Running In, Please Pass' sticker in the windscreen because for the first 1,000 miles of an engine's life you weren't supposed to rev it too hard.

These days engines don't have to be run in, of course; and the headlight dipper is no longer a button on the floor; and the ignition switch is no longer a switch - and no longer on the dashboard, etc., etc.....
Sworn, b'loody!
