C&A

Post by verytalldave » Mon Dec 04, 2006 12:56 pm

A large chain of clothes stores. A rather downmarket place, but was good value for money. I remember buying a ready to wear suit there once. It wasnt that bad actually and felt and fitted quite well despite my height.
I understand they still exist in some countries, but all have gone in the UK.

C&A is a Dutch company. If you hanker after them, look out for some huge stores next time you take a trip to Amsterdam.

I dont think I would use the word hanker in this instance. But thanks for the information anyway. If I ever decide to go to Amsterdam its unlikely a visit to C&A's would be on the itinery.

Being dutch is the reason they always had stock to fit those of us over six feet tall.

I really hadnt thought that point out. But it sounds quite plausable. Like the early Japanese cars were only suitable for small people and not "normal" europeans or americans.
Thanks for that info............

My Dad used to say C&A stood for Coats and Ats.
