Yup. Love all the carry-ons. Isn't that the one where Barbara Windsor's hows-yer-father pops off whilst doing excersises?

You would write 'Yup' in that slightly pervy way, wouldn't you, Dave? If that IS your name. Baldy.

There's a terrible continuity slip during that scene, but only the girls in the audience notice it, of course. Hattie Jacques, standing behind Kenneth Williams, is wearing a blue turban ... then she isn't ... then she is ... then she isn't ...

If you think he's pervy about the Carry On films, for goodness sake don't start him on the St. Trinians movies!

A quick guide to modern living for Dave

1. Nowadays, there ware things called films. I think you know what films are, don't you? Another word for them is movies. As in moving pictures. As opposed to still pictures, I imagine. Americans tend to call them movies.

2. People like to know about films (movies). They like information about them, such as who's in them, what they're about, are they any good, what else has someone in a particular film been in and so on and so forth.

3. Databases are good places to store information where the fields are fairly consistent, such as title, director, producer, cast, year made and so on.

4. "The Internet is the worldwide, publicly accessible network of interconnected computer networks that transmit data by packet switching using the standard Internet Protocol (IP)" (Wikipedia: Internet).

5. Some bright spark one day asked, "Wouldn't it be nice if there was a database accessible to Internet users that stored information about movies [films]?" And his/her bright spark friend said, "Why don't we make one?!" So they did. It's called the Internet Movie Database, or IMDB for short.

6. It expanded to include all sorts of other things, like telly programmes and computer games (known as video games in the USA).

7. For less patronising information, see the Wikipedia entry about it :)

Well put! =D> And despite the sarcastic speed that smiley is clapping- I salute you.
And well done for noticing that! I think you're right- only a bloke would be fixated by the two main characters in THAT scene... ahem... and would not be able to notice that!

Sarky git? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr  Don't mess with me. I've just watched a romantic box of tissues movie. I'm just about ready to punch any man right now. Unless you weren't talking about me...
