The Golden Shot

Like Superman on the radio (great for the imagination), likewise Journey Into Space, or the TeleGoons. Showing my age now!!

The Golden Shot

Post by charliechops » Sat Jan 22, 2005 5:09 pm

Off the wall game show presented by Bob Monkhouse on sunday afternoons (I think). I can't remember much about the format but at the end of each show the winning contestant had to guide a crossbow thing by saying left a bit right a bit etc and hit the target. If they were accurate the bolt would cut the rope thing and all the money would come tumbling out of the cash box and they would win the jackpot. Nerve jangling drum rolls and Monkhouse one liners a-plenty.

I thought it was "Heinz, the bolt" but maybe that was after they got sponsorship.

Wasn't the female interest one Anne Aston?

I used to love that show. Had almost forgotten it.

Yes, it was definitely "Bernie the Bolt".

"Anne Aston" - the original dumb blonde Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_44

All she had to do was bring on the contestants, and she nearly always made a ba**s of doing that, and then Bob would ask her something like "whats 2 plus 2" and she would giggle at the camera and say "thursday, Bob"
Oh! the hours would just fly by................ Yellow_Flash_Colorz_PDT_13

I was throwing out some old stuff the other day and found my "old coin" collection
It has some thrupenny bits, some tanners, a half crown, a crown, some farthings, a silver thrupenny bit (1894) there are also some pennies, halfpennies and from more recently, an old (large) 50p piece and a couple of half pences

They showed repeats of the "Golden Shot" on Challenge about 2 years ago. Hosted by Charlie William, The funniest thing I have seen, this bloke won a circular bed and a set of round bed linen and a couple won bunk beds.
