Radio one

Like Superman on the radio (great for the imagination), likewise Journey Into Space, or the TeleGoons. Showing my age now!!

I can't bear that Jeremy Vine bloke on R2. He should be renamed Jeremy Whine.

Do you remember Kenny and Cash for breakfast?
Then Captain Kremman?
Kenny Everett, sadly missed.

Then I moved to Birmingham and found Les Ross on BRMB.
The music was cr*p but he was brilliant.
His serial "Yesterday Never Comes" with Miss Stake and Lady Lord was always worth listening to. Nim, Nim, Nim.

He then moved to Saga Radio but upset the management and he's gone again.

I now listen to Wogan.

I know Dave Cash fairly well. He now presents on Radio Kent 6-9pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Well worth a listen if you are in their reception footprint. His Kenny & Cash radio show on the old pirate station Radio London was stuff of legend. It was unmissable and was always totally hilarious. BBC Radio One & Capital tried to recreate this show many years later. While it was still good, it was not a patch on the pirate original. You can catch a picture of my son, Craig, giving Dave his 60th birthday present at Radio Kent studios back in 2002. See it here.. http://www.radiolondon.co.uk/rl/scrapst ... crap2.html .
What a really nice, genuine bloke - and a top DJ to boot.

The quiz at lunch time was COD and they would have Simon Booker as the kind of judge on it.

My bloke's never even heard of the Fluff-Meister! "Is he famous, then?" he queried upon hearing the news.

Go off and Google 'Alan Freeman'

That's your homework for today.
