Whatever happened to the likely lads?

Great seventies comedy, rarely repeated these days. This was the follow up to the 1960's series the likely lads. Bob and Terry re-kindle their friendship after Terry spent seven years in the army, and is horrified to discover Bob is about to get married putting an end to their batchelor lifestyle.

James Bolam (Terry) went on to bigger and better things and is still acting today. On the other hand, Rodney Bewes (Bob) disappeared without trace only surfacing every now and then to open a supermarket or appear in panto. I think he has had a few minor roles on T.V. since.

Rodney Bewes went into the theatre, and started speaking very humpty-backed

(Ask Panda...) James Bolam refuses to speak about it at all these days

At least we do have occasional glimpses of WHTTLL - viewings of the original are very far and few.

I remember seeing James Bolam featured on "This Is Your Life". No appearance or mention of Rodney Bewes at all! Something tells me they didn't get on.

I swear they only only ever made one episode !!! Every time I happen to catch a repeat, it's the one where they're trying to avoid the football result !!!

I can live with that, it's them not deciding what channel's going to be showing the footy, so there're alternative schedules and they never say which one it's going to be until you've missed EastEnders or whatever.
