Bought my first single there. Back Home by the England World Cup Squad.
Did all my christmas shopping there when I was a kid.
Underwear.
Toys. Special edition, Woolies only, Matchbox Superfast cars and track.
Videos and CDs on my visits to England.
And those sweets! Blackjacks, Fruit Salads, Aniseed Twists, Kola Kubes, Hundreds and Thousands, Huge bars of CDM.
Very sad that they are closing. Woolies in Kingston was always a must visit on my trips home.

Happy new year all............. :wav:

And that's in the what we don't miss thread!

I used to go often as a kid, but it's been many years since I went to a Woollies. I shall miss the name, but I won't miss the shops a bit, I'm afraid.

Even so, New Year is a little less happy for its passing, but Image to everyone anyway...

I will miss woolies, used to spend my pocket money on LPs and sweets in there. It was also the meeting point for all my school buddies on a Saturday. "See you in Woolies at 12pm!"

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

The high street just isn't the same without it. Mind you, if the lady who resurrected the Dorchester Branch is successful you could see Wellworths coming to a street near you one day!
Come on in, the water's lovely!
