Bengers food

Post by verytalldave » Wed Nov 29, 2006 10:17 am

It was a white powder (similar to Horlicks) that you mixed with hot milk to make a delicious drink. It had a unique sort of a rich creamy vanilla flavour. I think it was discontinued 4 or 5 years ago. Shame as it was popular for many years. Just goes to show the power of advertising. If its not dangled in front of your eyes nowadays people dont buy it.
Anybody else fondly remember Bengers?

I remember it - or the name - OK, but I don't think I ever tried it: Mum bought both Ovaltine and Horlicks and eventually threw them away because we didn't really go for nightcap drinks in our household. She swore never to waste her hard-earned money on that stuff again. As she used hot chocolate powder for cooking, that's what we had to have if the mood took us.

The only way I can describe the taste of Bengers is like white chocolate, but not as sweet. It was, and remains one of my all time favorite things to eat.

Welcome to the madhouse, deepcoma!

I'm afraid it's in a pretty deep coma itself, though...
