Re: Doctors surgeries

I was talking to a friend about this subject and she remembers having an injection as a child (quite a traumatic experience) and being told to look away in the direction of the gas fire, complete with homely surround and clock etc.
Compare that to todays sterile faceless doctors rooms.

Doctors surgeries

I remembered today how doctors surgeries were often set up in ordinary houses where you would wait in the front room / waiting room. Re: Sayings

I told my lad to:
"Stop going on....you sound like a stuck record!"
Now that made me feel like my mother....and even older when I saw the look on his face and realised the boy doesnt have a clue what a record is.

Re: VESTA Ready Meals

You can buy crispy noodles in Chinese supermarkets, Blue Dragon brand I think!
I have used the Wok to fry them in before now you only need an inch or two of hot oil, fish them out with a slotted spoon and drain on kitchen roll.

Re: VESTA Ready Meals

Mmmm!!!!
The best variety was Beef Chow Mein. It had the best crispy noodles.
I loved making them, you had to throw them into hot fat and they would instantly puff up and curl. I even remember the squeeks they would let out as they frazzled.
