Crispy Cod Fries

I dread to think how little fish was in each of these battered beauties. Although oven cooked, they were pre-fried to ensure they had you monthly allowance of saturated fats glistening and seaping out of every one.

Extreemly unhealthy - delicious!!!

Very popular about the time Rolo came out, but in my humble opinion tons better 'cos each sweet lasted so much longer.
Ideal for getting your loose teeth out so the tooth-fairy could give you money to buy more toffos to make your teeth fall out!

Re: Mars Bars

I think they reduce the size several times over a period of 2 or 3 years, then they wack the size back up, and sell it for a higher price so everyone thinks they're getting a better deal, but in fact the price per gram has increased. That's inflation for you!

I don't have to say what a wonderful hour of entertainment each episode was (do I?).

It nearly came back a couple of years ago in a new form of hi-res marionation/cgi, but they ran out of money (lame excuse!) - there's a youtube trailer somewhere.

Re: "Reality" TV

I often channel hop in the hope of finding something worth watching on the 8 billion free channels. I got caught out once when I saw a nightv...

This was a card and board game where you had to collect stories (sport, local, headlines) and advertising to fill a newspaper front page. The most brilliant part of the game was a flat cardboard telephone, that you "dialed", by moving a small wooden handle on the dial, clockwise to the phone number,...

Re: Magic Robot

Yes - a brilliant pass time. I loved the way the robot slowed down as it wavered around the right answer - enthralling to me back in the 50's

Housing Drive

I think this was a Chad Valley board game, late 1950's, with really pretty coins, tokens and enamelled dice. The rules were horrendous and I always lost to my big brother, who read out the rules . . . oh oh the penny just dropped . . . I owe him! The game revolved around getting planning permission,...
